The London branch of ANPI UK would like to invite you to the screening of Long Night, a documentary by Emmy award winning film maker Lynzy Billing that focuses on Emergency‘s projects and on the work done by its staff in Afghanistan.
Emergency provides healthcare in war-torn zones since 1994, in 20 countries, building hospitals, surgical centres, rehabilitation centres, paediatric centres, health centres, outpatient and mobile clinics, a maternity centre and a cardiac surgery centre. They also contributed to the restructuring and strengthening of existing health facilities on the request of local authorities. Finally, they provide medical assistance to marginalised people who cannot access public healthcare in Italy.
One of his founders, Dr Gino Strada, was a prominent voice opposing the war in Afghanistan in 2001 and he advocated for the cause of peace until his death in 2021.
The documentary will be screened at the The Renoir Screen at the Curzon Bloomsbury, The Brunswick Centre, London, WC1N 1AW on the 3rd of April.
