The presence of the ANPI in Ireland in general (the Republic, and Northern Ireland) was born with the Comitato Informale “25 Aprile”, a small group of friends from Belfast who had been dreaming of organising a Liberation Day party for years.
Thanks to the support of many friends and organisations in the area, in a city full of initiatives like Belfast, we organised a first 25 April at the Lawrence Street Workshops, inviting anyone who wanted to share a day of music, good food and better company, and – above all – anti-fascism. Getting in touch with the ANPI UK Section was an obvious and fundamental step of that event, and since 2023 we have been collecting registrations and continuing to organise events in the area, alone or together with the many, wonderful partners we have met along the way.
